We are looking for volunteers!!!!

We need all different types of volunteers to help our Rescue run!!! Purrs N Pups Run only on volunteers and we can not operate with our the help from our generous volunteers. Would you like to become Part Of the Purrs N Pups Animal Rescue Team???

Jr. Volunteers
 To be a Jr. Volunteer you must be at least 13 years old. Your responsibilities would be to make sure every animal at an adoption event has water, and a clean cage and to walk smaller adult dogs. You are also able  to either help clean up after an adoption event or set up before an adoption event if you would like.  You will also be able to help raise money through our fundraisers, such as selling various items.

Adoption Event Volunteers
to be an adoption event volunteer you must have dog experience and be willing to answer questions. Your responsibilities would be to  walk Dogs, talk to potential adopters and explain the adoption process. You will also be able to help raise money through our fundraisers, such as selling various items.

Kennel Helpers
Purrs N Pups Animal rescue is a foster based rescue and most of our animals are in foster care. However, we always have an overflow of dogs waiting for a foster or an adoptive home. In the meantime, these animals are kenneled at a boarding facility in Andover, NJ. These animals receive basic care and some individual attention, but in order be come more adoptable they need more playtime and some extra individual attention and love. This also heps us to learn more about their individual personalities and helps us match them properly with the right home.  You will also be able to help raise money through our fundraisers, such as selling various items.

Foster Homes
 We are in a desperate need of foster homes.  We are only able to foster the animals that we have fosters for. Most of our foster homes are located in NJ, although we do have foster families from NY, and PA. If you would like to be a foster family you would have to be able to drop your foster pet off at an adoption event and pick your foster up. (you may stay all day at an adoption event if you choose to) Purrs N Pups will provid you with everything that you need to foster! :) You will also be able to help raise money through our fundraisers, such as selling various items.

Drivers
If you would like to be a driver, you may be asked to: take animals to and pick up from vet appointments bring animals to and from adoption events, transport an animal to a foster home or pick up an animal from a foster home, and drivers are needed for transports to pick up dogs from shelterd down south and bring them back to NJ. You will also be able to help raise money through our fundraisers, such as selling various items.

Peanuts Gang update

Mom and pups are doing great. Today the puppies' eyes opened! They are growing fast. They love to eat. Other than a quick potty break and a cuddle from foster mom, momma Peppermint Patty wants to be with them every minute.

Adoptions 10/8/11

Adoptions Yesterday were at Pet Goods In Succasunna. The weather was beautiful, so we were able to have adoptions outside. It was a success!

Brigette's Mom & Pups

Meet Momma Bear(Scuffles) and her 5 beautiful puppies! There are 2 boys and 3 girls! They were born on September 22nd and will be ready for adoption November 12, 2011. They will most-Likely all be identical to Momma, and one will look like dad! If you would like to support this litter while they are in foster care please Donate Online, or you can mail donations to PO Box 188, riverdale NJ, 07457! Angel- Angel was Brigette's Favorite Foster Dog.  She was adopted in Spring of 2010!

Dog Of The Day

Today, October 7, 2011, Dog Of the Day is..............

Gillian

Just Look at those Ears! Don't you Just fall in love??? Gilly is a Lab/Corgi mix. She is about 9 months old and still hasn't found a home. Gillian was rescued from a HIGH kill shelter, when she was due to be put to sleep in May. Gillian and her six other siblings were all almost at a dead end. Her one Brother, Legs, had been hit by a car, and left to die with a broken leg. His siblings hung close by until Animal Control picked this litter up. The litter was held for seven days and Nobody reclaimed any one of the pups. Their time had come, they Needed to be rescued. Volunteers from Purrs N Pups had planned on going to VA to rescue other animals who needed help as well. Our wonderful Volunteers brought this litter back to NJ. Gillian and all of her siblings got fixed and got all the medical care they needed. The litter attended every adoption event Purrs N Pups had. As Gillian's Siblings all found homes Gillian still remained in the rescue. She grew older and older, and she is now 9 months old. Gillian loves people and loves other animals. I chose to take home Gillian for some time to share some love with her. Within a week of fostering Gillian she learned "Sit" and "Come". With another week of foster care Gillian has also learned "Down" "no" "quite" and "paw" Gillian has energy but calms down after at least 10 minutes or so running in the yard. In the house Gillian loves to be right by your side, she will even clean your face! Gillian is such a great dog and deserves a home to call her own. All of Gillian's biological family was adopted months ago, and now Gillian has no family at all. Will you make Gillian a Part of your Family! She won't Let you down in any way. She will even love your current  pet dog, guinea pig, or bird! Gillian also plays well with young children! Gillian will be great in almost any situation. Will you give Gillian a brighter future then her past????????

Cat of the Day

Today is October 7th, 2011...and the COTD is...........

J.R.

JR, is an  orange and white kitten! He is such a sweet cat. He is fixed and up to date on all of his vaccines! JR is also litterboxed trainned. JR, was rescued from a shelter down south. Jr and his sibblings were due to be put to sleep. A group of volunteers had travled down south on a mission to save as many lives as possible. JR and his sibbling were just so adorable the volunteers just had to save them! All of JR's sibbling have since been adopted but JR is now egerly awaiting a new home.
