West Virginia Transport Plans- Fosters Needed

Volunteers are in the early stages of planning a transport to West Virginia on October 22/23.  We hope to arrive back in NJ between 7-8 pm on Sunday evening.  We are hoping that by making advance plans, we are able to find more foster homes.  If youare intersted in fostering please fill out a foster Application. PNP will need to get and idea of how many animals we can rescue.

 Please keep in mind the plans are still tentative at this point but we need your feedback to move forward.  Thanks!!

Dog Of the Day

Today's Star Dog is.........................

MISTY

Misty is such a loving girl. We think she is a Terrier, Mix. She is about 1 1/2-2 years old. If you see her in person and just look in her eyes, she will melt your heart. She is such a great dog and is a great size as well. She is about 45 pounds. Misty LOVES other dogs. Misty is great with kids as well. Misty was in a foster home with a 3 year old and a 8 year old. She was great with both kids. Purrs N Pups rescued Misty from a kill shelter in VA, when she was nursing her 3 week old puppies. Misty was also super skinny when her foster mom got her She was a fantastic momma to her Babbie's. All of her puppies were adopted about 2 months ago. Misty is such a great dog and really needs a home to call her own. She loves to cuddle, is wonderful with both dogs and kids, and is just the right size..... What more can you ask for??? Will you rescue MISTY!!! :) She never forget you rescued her!!

Cat Of the Day

TodayOctober 6th, 2011's COTD is.............................

 Betty!!!!!

Betty was once some one's pet cat. Her family left her out to fend for herself. She luckily wandered into the right person's yard. She was nervous but not feral. She wandered around this persons house for about a year. But on one cold winter morning Betty had no longer wanted to fend for her self. She had gotten pregnant as well. Betty waited for the person to come home from work. When she got home Betty Meowed and ran right up to and rolled on her back, showing she was friendly. Before her new "foster mom" got up Betty Jumped in the car, so her foster mom would bring her inside. Betty gave birth to 3 kitten on March 20th, 2011. It was snowing that day and a few days after. Betty was lucky to be rescue when she was!! Betty is now a happy-go-lucky cat and loves everyone. She really needs a home to call her own!! Vicki's new babies

Well, technically not MY babies. Peppermint Patty is an approx 2 year old hound mix who delivered a beautiful litter of 5 babies on September 29. Charlie, Linus, Lucy, Sally and Pigpen are a week old today and doing well. Patty is an excellent mom and a very sweet and mellow girl. She has a beautiful face and long blonde eyelashes!

Cat of The Day

Today's COTD is...............

Penelope!!!

Penelope Is a White Domestic Short Hair. Penelope is still young-only a year or so. Penelope was rescue from a HIGH-Kill shelter in Virginia. Penelope was very timid when she was first brought to her foster home. We do not know her history of why she ended up in a shelter. Penelope's Foster family has worked with her throughout there MONTHS that she has been in foster care. She has become a loving cat who loves to cuddle. Her Foster mom States "When she first came to me, she wouldn't let me hold her or cuddle her. Now, she gets lots of cuddles and kisses, and she loves it! She becomes so relaxed, she starts to purr and drool...a complete turn around from when she first got here! " Penelope gets along great with other cats and would love to have a cat friend in her new home!! Please Share Penelope's Story With Everyone!

Dog Of The Day

Meet Today's DOTD...................

Sherri!! 

Sherri is a White German Shepherd Dog. Sherri is about 4 years old. Sherri was found as a stray on the streets in VA. She was picked up by the local animal control, and due to be put to sleep. When Purrs N Pups saw her we knew we couldn't let this happen. We arranged to rescue her. When she came up from Virginia, the vet thought she was pregnant. It turned out that Sherri had recently had litter of puppies. (We do not know what happened to the puppies.) When Sherri went to the vet in NJ we also discovered that she had Lyme's Disease and a broken leg. Poor Girl. Sherri was so tough she still manged to walk around on the streets until she was rescued, but because she had used her leg so much, she also developed arthritis.  Now Sherri's requires orthopedic surgery.  Unfortunately this surgery is extremely costly. Sherri would love to have a sponsor! Although Sherri can be in a great deal of pain at some moments, she still is such a fantastic dog. She Loves people and is extremely mellow.

1. We need volunteers who are willing to help put at our adoption events
2. We need volunteers to help transport animals to and from foster homes and possible drop off/pick ups at the vet.
3. We need creative volunteers to help plan fundraisers.
4. We need volunteers to collect Donations.
